How VidSurge Uses the Google Ads API

VidSurge integrates directly with the Google Ads API to programmatically create, manage, and monitor YouTube video ad campaigns on behalf of our customers. Here is how each part of our workflow uses the API:

1. Campaign Creation

When a customer submits their YouTube video URL, budget, and targeting preferences, VidSurge uses the Google Ads API to create a Video campaign (with a linked ad group and video ad) targeting the selected countries, interests, age groups, and devices.

2. Budget & Bid Management

We programmatically set daily budgets and bidding strategy via the API, ensuring spend stays within the customer's allocated amount while maximizing view delivery (Cost-Per-View).

3. Performance Reporting

We pull real-time performance metrics (views, impressions, cost, view rate) using the Google Ads API reporting service (GoogleAdsService.Search) and display them in the customer's dashboard.

4. Campaign Control

Customers can pause, resume, or stop campaigns from our dashboard. Each action triggers a corresponding campaign-status mutate call to the Google Ads API.

VidSurge manages campaigns under our own Google Ads manager account (MCC). Customers do not need their own Google Ads account — we handle all campaign operations on their behalf as a managed promotion service.
